Purpose of Eid-ul-Adha
Bakra Eid also named as Eid al-Adha, will begin in the Evening of Saturday 9 July 2022 and will End in the Evening of 10 July according to Pakistan’s standard time. Eid al-Adha is known as the festival of sacrifice. As Hazrat Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his beloved son that was replaced by ram following the order of Allah (SWT), and Hazrat Ismail (son of Hazrat Ibrahim) was unharmed. Allah tested the faith of Hazrat Ibrahim to see his dedication in the submission to his creator. So this festival is celebrated by sacrificing beloved animals.
Qualities of animals that can be sacrificed:
- The animals must be fit and free of illness
- They must not be markedly thin
- Animal must not be blind
- Animals that are too feeble to sustenance their own weight must not be considered for sacrificing purpose
- Sheep and goats should be at least one year in age
- Cows should be at least two years old
- Camels should be at least five years in age when sacrificed
